Accessibility Statement Β· WCAG 2.1 AA

Every Visitor. Every Ability. Every Time.

TK Plumbing removes blockages for a living. Online, we apply the same principle β€” a website should never become a barrier between you and the help you need.

Accessibility isn't a feature. It's a promise.

When a pipe bursts at 2 AM, you shouldn't have to fight a clunky website to find help. You shouldn't squint, zoom, or guess where the phone number is. You shouldn't be locked out because you use a screen reader, a switch device, or just need bigger text.

TK Plumbing believes every Floridian β€” regardless of vision, hearing, motor ability, or technical comfort β€” deserves the same fast path to a licensed plumber. That belief shapes every line of code, every button, every form on tkplumbing941.com.

If a website turns someone away in their moment of need, it has already failed. We measure success by who can use our site β€” not just how it looks.

TK Plumbing Web Standards Team

We don't guess at accessibility. We measure it.

Our website is designed and tested against globally recognized accessibility frameworks. These aren't logos to put in a footer β€” they're the actual rulebooks our developers code against.

Primary Standard

WCAG 2.1 Level AA

The international gold standard from the W3C. Covers contrast, navigation, structure, and content alternatives.

U.S. Federal

ADA Title III Best Practices

Aligned with U.S. Department of Justice guidance for public-accommodation websites under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Federal Tech

Section 508 Compatible

Compatible with U.S. federal accessibility requirements for digital information and communication technology.

Real features, not just promises

Every item below is implemented and actively maintained on tkplumbing941.com.

Semantic HTML Structure

Proper heading order, landmarks, and ARIA labels so screen readers can announce content the way a sighted user would scan it.

Keyboard-First Navigation

Every link, button, form field, and dropdown can be reached and activated with Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, and Space β€” no mouse needed.

Visible Focus Indicators

Clear, high-contrast outlines show exactly where you are on the page when navigating with a keyboard or assistive device.

WCAG-Grade Color Contrast

Body text meets a 4.5:1 ratio. Headings and large text meet 3:1. Tested with WebAIM Contrast Checker on every brand color combination.

Descriptive Alt Text

Every photo of a technician, truck, or service has meaningful alternative text β€” not "image1.jpg." Decorative images are correctly hidden from screen readers.

Forms That Make Sense

Labels paired with inputs, clear error messages, autofill hints, and large 48px+ tap targets β€” so requesting service never requires a magnifying glass.

Plain-Language Copy

We replace plumbing jargon with words homeowners actually use. "Hydro jetting" becomes "high-pressure pipe cleaning." Clear writing is accessibility, too.

Resizable Without Breaking

Zoom up to 200% in your browser and the layout still works. Text reflows, buttons remain usable, nothing gets cut off the screen.

βš™ Honest Disclosure

What we're still working on.

No website is ever "done" with accessibility β€” and we'd rather tell you the truth than pretend otherwise. Here's what's currently on our roadmap:

  • Third-party widgets: Embedded review feeds and chat plugins from outside vendors don't always match our internal standards. We audit them quarterly and replace those that fail.
  • Older blog posts: A small handful of legacy articles may still have images without alt text. We're systematically updating them and welcome reports of any you spot.
  • Captioned video: Our short truck-and-team videos are being re-encoded with closed captions and transcripts. Until that finishes, alternative text descriptions are available on request.

If you encounter a barrier we haven't listed, please tell us. Real user feedback is the fastest way for us to fix what testing tools miss.

Need a plumber? We make help easy to reach.

Whatever device, whatever ability, however you arrive β€” there's always a clear path to TK Plumbing. Call us or send a message, and a real person will respond.
